The Fluffies 2005
PocketLint has released the list of nominations for the best electronics of the year awards, The Fluffies.
The awards will be held on the 1 December 2005 and include any product that has been launched in the UK since the 1 December 2004.
The Digital Camera nomications are:
Best Digital Camera (Compact)
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX7
Panasonic has created a real beauty with the FX7. Small, stylish and with an accomplished feature set that is sure to appeal to all in the I-must-have-a-sexy-snapper fraternity
The Nikon S1
A super compact addition to the Nikon range. It’s reasonably priced and performed well in a wide range of situations
Fujifilm F10
The Fuji FinePix F10 is a little cracker that provides a simple to use and it’s a good price too
Kodak EasyShare One
Give it a couple of years and this breakthrough product will be the norm and for us we think that can only be a good thing
Pentax Optio 50
Upping the ratio of megapixels to pounds spent, this is a camera that delivers all the features to get you started in digital photography, all at a reasonable price
Best Digital Camera (Prosumer)
Nikon F6
Seems that Nikon haven’t lost their touch in making cameras that make you want to don body armour and charge after the action. Beefy, beautiful & black
Canon 350D
As an entry level DSLR this is great stuff, providing great pictures with little effort in a lightweight body
Nikon D50
The Nikon D50 makes a stunning entry level model for those switching to digital from film or moving up from a digital compact
Epson R-D1 Digital Rangefinder
The R-D1 provides plenty of camera cachet for any photographer thanks to its unique combination of old and modern and superb image quality
Konica Minolta Dynax 5D
Konica Minolta could be accused of coming to the budget D-SLR party a tad late, but now it has made its bow with the Dynax 5D (a slightly tweaked version of the Dynax 7D), it has done so with a little corker of a camera. It’s up agianst Nikon’s D70s, Pentax’s *ist-DL and Canon’s EOS 350D to name a few but it is every bit good as its competition
Seems like Nikon might win both categories. We’ll find out in a month ![]()
