Olympus Mju 790 SW digital camera

Computeractive.co.uk has posted a review of the Olympus Mju 790 SW digital camera. Gavin Stoker writes:

As likely to appeal to those who regularly hit the slopes of Aspen as much as those who simply want to splash about with the kids in Majorca, the Mju 790 SW’s impressive features and very fair price tag mean it’s hard to level too much criticism at it. If tip-top image quality is your primary concern, however, there are better alternatives. Vista compatible: Yes

Olympus FE-300 Review

Digitalcamerareview has posted a review of the Olympus FE-300 digital camera. Ben Stafford writes: The Olympus FE-300 provides a whopping 12 megapixels of resolution, but don’t let the thought that “more is better” enter your mind when deciding about whether to buy this camera.  With this camera, all that 12 megapixels gets you is large files and the ability to do a ton of cropping.  Now, if you are looking for a quality built, slim, entry level, easy to use camera, then consider this camera, but realize that you’ll get average image quality.  There are a lot of good things about the camera – battery life, good macro shots, the built-in guide system, and the styling.  You’ll need to balance the good things with the bad – soft details, noisy flash shots, and so on.

Olympus FE-300 digital camera review

Reviews.cnet has posted a review of the Olympus FE-300 digital camera. Will Greenwald writes: If you shoot in awkward lighting, Perfect Shot Preview can really help you take a proper shot without a lot of trial-and-error or menu-hunting. You can even preview how movie clips will look at different quality settings and frame-rates, though the highest quality 30fps VGA movie mode will almost always be your best choice.

Olympus Stylus 760

Reviews.cnet has posted a review of the Olympus Stylus 760 digital camera. Will Greenwald writes: Our testing yielded reasonably sharp photos with well-resolved details in the center, although there were a few spots where postprocessing smeared some edges–a common problem in compacts. Colors tended to be a bit too cool but appropriately saturated, and measured noise
was surprisingly low, appearing as only a moderate grain even at ISO 800. At ISO 1,600, however, the photos exploded with noise-driven speckles and fuzz. As you’d expect from the narrow, short-range zoom lens, distortion was almost nonexistent, barreling only slightly at the edges at its widest.

Olympus FE-210 review

Reviews.cnet has posted a review of the Olympus FE-210 digital camera. Will Greenwald writes: Within the FE-210’s cookie-cutter plastic shell is a fairly standard digital camera. Besides its 7-megapixel sensor, it has a typical 38mm to 114mm-equivalent lens, a 2.5-inch LCD with no viewfinder, and a small handful of scene presets. These are all typical digital camera features, with
little if anything to set the FE-210 apart from other models.

Olympus SP-550 Ultra Zoom review

Reviews.cnet has posted a review of the Olympus SP-550 Ultra Zoom digital camera. Philip Ryan writes: To Olympus’ credit, there are plenty of features in the SP-550UZ that we enjoyed. In addition to full manual exposure controls, the 550UZ boasts 23 scene modes to help you take on challenging situations and explanations of each mode appear on the menu screens when you choose
them. Plus the camera has a built-in guide, accessed through the main mode dial, which steps you through the adjustments needed to take on difficult shots, such as shooting a backlit subject, or shooting a subject that’s in motion.

Olympus SP-550 UZ review

Asia.cnet has posted a review of the Olympus SP-550 UZ digital camera.

Damian Koh writes: For a camera that’s heavily loaded with features, the SP-550UZ didn’t let down, nor did it amaze us in terms of performance. The shooter powered up in 2.6 seconds (including the time needed for the camera lens to extend) and we captured our first shot another second later.

Olympus Mju 760 review

Asia.cnet has posted a review of the Olympus Mju 760 digital camera review.

Will Greenwald writes: The Mju 760’s performance was decent, but not remarkable. After a startup time of 2.1 seconds, the camera could take a shot every two seconds thereafter. With the onboard flash enabled, that time increased to three seconds per shot. Shutter lag was a brisk 0.5 second in bright light, though shooting targets in dim light more than tripled the lag to 1.7 seconds.

Olympus FE-240 - digital camera

Reviews.cnet has posted a review of the Olympus FE-240 - digital camera.

Will Greenwald writes: The FE-240’s most notable feature is its lens. The camera’s 38mm-to-190mm-equivalent lens offers a 5x magnification factor over the other FE-cameras’ 3x lenses. Besides the increased zoom, the FE-240 sports fairly mundane features, such as a 7-megapixel sensor and a 2.5-inch LCD screen.
