Samsung NV10 digital camera Review

Pocket-lint has posted a review of the Samsung NV10 digital camera.

Stuart Miles writes: Manufactures are keen to point out 10 megapixels will give you “plenty of creativity when it comes to cropping”. However so far we’ve yet to see a compact digital camera with 10 megapixels that produces good results without any noise and the Samsung NV10 isn’t the one to break the mould.

Nice looking, this camera falls down when it comes to taking pictures and for that reason we can’t recommend it.

If you do like the style, and you probably do because it does look nice, opt for the more practical and equally stylish NV3.

Samsung NV3 digital camera review

Dcresource has posted a review of the Samsung NV3 digital camera.

Jeff Keller writes: The Samsung NV3 is a convergence device if there ever was one. It does the usual camera things like take pictures and video clips, but it also can play your MP3 and video files just like your iPod or other portable media player. And while the interface is a little clunky, the NV3 succeeds in doing all of these things pretty well. It may not be the perfect ultra-compact, but this stylish camera is good
enough to earn my recommendation.

Samsung NV3 digital camera Review

Computeractive.co.uk has posted a review of the Samsung NV3 digital camera.

Gavin Stoker writes:  Samsung appears to have over-egged the pudding. It may be feature packed, but the wealth of options can’t fully disguise the fact that the Samsung NV3’s combo approach falls short of the results provided by separate, dedicated devices.

Samsung Digimax Pro 815 digital camera review

Reviews.cnet has posted a review of the Samsung Digimax Pro 815 digital camera.

Philip Ryan writes: Noise is probably the Pro 815’s biggest liability. Even at ISO 50, there is noticeable noise which looks akin to what you might find at ISO 200 on cleaner cameras. At ISO 100, it becomes only more noticeable, though images are still usable. At ISO 200, noise became much worse, obscuring finer details, though images are still passable when printed on paper as large as letter size. At ISO 400, noise was so rampant that images were nearly unusable. Given that many cameras now yield acceptable
images at as high as ISO 800–and sometimes higher–it’s bad enough that the Pro 815’s sensitivity extends only to ISO 400 and it’s highly problematic that the camera has such high noise at ISO 200 and ISO 400.

Samsung Digimax L55W Digital Camera Review

Digicamreview has posted a review of the Samsung Digimax L55W Digital Camera .

They write: The Samsung Digimax L55W on paper is an impressive camera, with a wide-angle 4.8x optical zoom lens, a wide-aspect ratio photo mode and an impressive wide-aspect ratio 2.8″ screen the camera is very appealling. However, image quality was generally slightly disappointing, especially when it came to the high levels of purple fringing when photos contained trees or other high contrast areas. The camera is now facing some extremely strong competition from the likes of Ricoh,
Panasonic and to a lesser extent Casio - the
Ricoh Caplio R4 offers more zoom and a more compact body for the same price, whereas the Panasonic Lumix LX2 offers a true wide-aspect ratio CCD sensor, and a wide-aspect ratio screen,
while people who aren’t concerned about a wide angle lens can opt for the
Casio Exilim EX-Z1000. If you can find the Samsung Digimax L55W for a bargain price, then it is worth considering, however high image quality is to be found elsewhere.

Samsung Digimax L85 Digital Camera Review

Computeractive.co.uk has posted a review of the Samsung Digimax L85 Digital Camera.  Gavin Stoker writes:

The Samsung Digimax L85’s additional specification includes a 8.1 megapixel resolution plus the ability to shoot and review photos in widescreen.

The latter means a resolution drop to five megapixels, as the image is cropped. Still, there’s a decent-sized 2.5in screen  for composition and review, a better than average 5x optical zoom plus the ability to capture uncompressed TIFF files, which offer better quality over regular (compressed) JPEGs.

Samsung Digimax S600 Digital Camera

Reviews.cnet posted a review for the Samsung Digimax S600 Digital Camera. They write: The good: Manual exposure control; RGB intensity controls; relatively low price.

The bad: Confusing menus; no aperture- or shutter-priority; exposure adjustments in 1/2-stop instead of 1/3-stop increments.

The bottom line: While inexpensive for a 6-megapixel camera with manual control, the Samsung Digimax S600’s poor image quality is sure to disappoint.

Samsung Digimax L60 Digital Camera Review

Reviews.cnet has posted a review for the Samsung Digimax L60 Digital Camera. They write: The Samsung Digimax L60 is a solid point-and-shoot camera with a handful of image settings and solid performance. Despite some purple fringing, the camera’s images are crisp, detailed, and fairly noise-free. Unfortunately, its burst mode is slower than that of most cameras of its class, so
this isn’t the best choice for shooting sports. If you don’t mind an occasional purple halo and don’t have to snap rapid photos, the Digimax L60 is a strong choice.

Samsung Digimax S800 digital camera review

Reviews.cnet has posted a review for the Samsung Digimax S800 digital camera. They write:

Even at ISO 50 (the lowest setting possible with this camera), some noise was visible in our test images, though it was very minor and remained so at ISO 100. At ISO 200, noise was very noticeable, causing even moderately dark colors to become mottled with splotches of varying lightness and colors, though many finer details were still unobscured. By ISO 400, the noise overwhelmed lots of detail, resulting in images unfit for print.

Exposures were generally accurate, though images were slightly soft and had noticeable fringing in highlights, especially with backlit subjects. We also noticed JPEG artifacting, which lent a choppy look to some curved edges.

Samsung’s Digimax S800 suffers the same fate as so many inexpensive, high-resolution cameras: the drawbacks of excessive noise and image artifacts overshadow the camera’s many useful features.

Samsung Digimax i6 Digital Camera Review

Letsgodigital has posted a review for the Samsung Digimax i6 Digital Camera. They write: The new Samsung Digimax i6 PMP was immediately enthusiastically received by the specialist publications. As well as being a compactly designed digital camera, the Samsung i6 is also a video camera and, surprisingly enough, a fully-fledged MP3 player. The Samsung Digimax i6 has a stylish, ergonomic design and is extremely compact. With 6 Megapixels
the Samsung i6 is a digital compact camera with a lot of extra’s up its sleeve. The Samsung Digimax i6 has a 3x optical zoom and a 5x digital zoom. The camera has an adjustable image stabiliser (ASR) that can be used to reduce the often annoying consequences of movement in the digital picture. The term PMP refers to the Personal Media Player and encapsulates the multimedia character of the Samsung Digimax i6 camera.
