Canon PowerShot SD430 Wireless ( Digital IXUS Wireless )
Canon Europe posted a new press release today announcing the release of the new Digital IXUS Wireless camera.
Features:
- Automatic wireless image transfer to your PC or to a printer hooked to its wireless print adapter.
- A 5 megapixel sensor
- 3x optical zoom lens
- 2 inch LCD display
- Available from January 2006 for £399.00 / €599.99 RRP inc. VAT.
While it is always nice to see consumer appliances going towords being wireless it just seems as it has become more of a catch phrase. I can’t imagine why there would be a need to have the word WIRELESS in the actual name of the camera. Sure, its a nice convenient feature but touting it as if it is some revolutionary next gen feature is just silly.
Basically, you won’t have to plug the wire into the camera or you would have to take your memory card and put it in the card reader. Instead, you’ll just press a button on the camera and the images will be downloaded to the PC or your printer. It does not seem like such a huge deal to me. Nice feature but they are putting too much emphasis on it in my opinion.
